Florence Highlights with Accademia and Uffizi Tour

Florence Highlights with Accademia and Uffizi Tour

per person

The Florence Accademia and Uffizi tour is for sure our best seller. It allows you to visit all the big highlights in 4 hours. It is going to be a tornado of surprises and wonders! I will need your collaboration to make it happen, staying within the timetable. You will get a whirlwind tour. During this tour we will visit the central square and birthplace of Florence, Piazza della Repubblica. I will give you a little introduction to its history. From there we move on to the Mercato Nuovo rubbng the nose of the Piggy which is so dear to the locales. You can’t miss it, it brings good luck! Our Florence Accademia and Uffizi Tour continues to the Arno River and to the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Florence which dates back to 1345 and houses the antique shops of gold, diamonds and precious jewels that still retain their medieval appearance. After taking in some of the most beautiful memorable pictures from here (guides are also good photographers), we walk to Piazza della Signoria. This political center of the city is a breathtaking open air museum, decorated by white marble and bronze statues along with its massive medieval castle, called Palazzo Vecchio. Palazzo Vecchio was the government seat of the glorious Florentine republic. Today this square is called “Theater of Wonders” is a veritable open-air museum of ancient statues, The Loggia dei Lanzi and buildings such as the elegant Uffizi gallery. Walking in the Square of the Uffizi museum, you will realize how big this gallery is and how lucky you are to have a guide here. The Uffizi gallery represents one of the most important art centers in the world, just as the Louvre is for Paris. It is the most visited museum in Florence. Here you find works of art painted and sculpted over 1500 years of history. No panic, we do not have time to see all of them today but we will dedicate our time to the masterpieces . The Uffizi gallery has the most important collection of Renaissance art in the world today. I will introduce you to the world of art in an interesting and intriguing manner. Due to the massive quantity of important artwork in this museum, I can walk you through its hallway introducing you to the significance of these masterpieces such as the ones by Piero della Francesca, Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and many others. After this incredible artistic immersion, the Florence Accademia and Uffizi Tour continues outside in the medieval streets of the city that will take us to the magnificent Duomo. The massive Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore will impress you with its tri-colored marbles, where the architect Filippo Brunelleschi designed the most famous Dome in the world in 1436. It is still a mystery of engineering, well over 116 m high. Together we will discover the secrets that have kept it up to date. There we will also see one of the oldest buildings in town, the Romanesque Baptistery, with its famous Renaissance Gates of Paradise. The last work, but not the least will be the Gothic Bell Tower of Giotto with its tri-colored marble and the details of the decorations which reminds us of a distant 1333. Our final destination is the Accademia museum. The visit in this museum will be focused on the David and the Prisoners by Michelangelo. You will be fascinated by these masterpieces because we will unveil the secrets behind their beauty and their creator’s thoughts and life. The lesser-known Prisoners are intriguing because they reveal the personal torment of Michelangelo who sculpted the beautiful figures, struggling to escape from the marble.
